OMG! Only 3 Months To XMAS!

24/SEP/2006

What happened to 2006? As they say, time flies when you're having fun!

But it hasn't been all roses for the Happy Pink People! It's been a lot of hard work, rough times with career (and salary package) changes, web-hosting payment issues (we are real sorry if you got a bounced-email folks) and to top it all off just this week... car troubles! Cars are the epitome of trouble though, in so many ways - but no one should have to live without mod cons, unless the very wealthy turn around and stop contributing to carbon emmissions too. Coming soon, a paper by Glenn on how it is to be stuck between a rock and a hard place with regards to the environment. There's lots more photos and artworks in the Gallery too! Thanks for visiting, and thanks for being happy! Smiles, the Happy Pink People.

Candyman receives HIGHLY COMMENDED @ THE GOLD COAST SHOW

02/SEP/2006

We always knew he had it in him to turn heads!

Let me just say a huge congratulations to Steve on behalf of all the happy pink people! This is an awesome achievement for Candyman to be singled out and given praise amongst many other amazing works from very talented artists. We're proud of you Steve! Keep up all your brilliant work! Mata ne, Glenn.

Hey there folks!

22/JUL/2006

An update to the goings on in the happy pink people universe.

Hey there folks, Steve here with news of what's been happening. Glenn's been working for about a month at Turner Sands Advertising on the Gold Coast. So Happy Pink People have now moved home base. Now the move is over, we can focus on welcoming our latest happiest pink people. What we are about is giving exposure to artists, what they're about and their current movements. We welcome our latest artists and ask you to visit the gallery, to check out their work. We're setting up a mailing list so anyone interested in joining us, please do! For the time being just go to Talk to Us page. I shall be releasing the "Kitty Series" for limited edition prints through Arthouse Reproductions. Am currently working on a few smaller projects and have been go go go with ideas and what to do with them. The response to this site has been positive and productive and we look forward to welcoming 3 more artists in the following weeks. Look out for "There's a Donkey in my Bathtub!"

We're still alive and pumpen!

04/JUN/2006

Amongst all the upheaval of work committments, we're back to let you know what's going on!

If you're visitng today, please forgive the mess. If you see an ugly error, please just wait a moment and refresh the page. I don't let bugs go for long without bringing out the fly-swat! That's right, I'm making some little feature additions to the site which should make things just a bit easier. There's also heaps of new content up, and more is on the way! Look out in the gallery very soon for works from new artists, and some awesome introductions into the category of sculpture! I can't wait to process the images so we all can enjoy! Steve and I have been busy with our spare time. We've had a chat with Teapot and checked out his intriguingly cool wire sculpture and wire fashion (the stone hat - wire shoes); and Walter's paintings of tropical underwater scenes just made me want to dive right on in! We've also had some unlikely but awesomely welcome picture submissions from the youngest new happy pink people in town, Darcey, Rudy and Summer-lee! If we've made contact and haven't gotten to see you yet, we're heaps sorry. Hopefully there will be a time we can convene that works, or feel free to submit a list of preferred images by email with a bit of a spiel for each one. I've got a new fulltime job with an advertising agency in Southport. It's awesome news for both us boys coz it means we'll be escaping the drone of the inner Brissy ant hill! Being down the coast still keeps us handy so Steve will still be working in Brisbane on the weekends at Merthyr Bowls Club, New Farm - go in and say g'day if you're in the area! We can also stage better hops to the markets and galleries about Northern New South Wales, Mt Tamborine, and so forth. If Steve's phone is off, it's most likely he's working or clocking up on the sleep-deficit. Please text or email if you like. Otherwise feel free to call me on 0408 747 769 and I'll get you set up - that goes for those of you who want to apply too! Send a sample of your best stuff and we'll tell you honestly if you fit the Happy Pink People criteria (glenn@happypinkpeople.com). Please know we have a zero tolerance for time-wasters. Your attitude really counts in the approval process, and my favourite keywords for that are, happy, helpful, successful and profitable! Let's get out there as a united front to give struggling artists an improved marketplace!! Please tell us what you reckon. May your day or eve be one full of smiles :-D Regards, Glenn Wallace glenn@happypinkpeople.com

An introduction & Nimbin Mardi Grass wrap-up!

14/MAY/2006

Hi there Folks, and welcome to the website!

Firstly I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Steven Walker and I'm located in the inner Brisbane vicinity. I've been drawing etc. now for the last ten years and displaying/exhibiting in venues/ galleries around the south-east QLD regions. Happy Pink People is the mastermind and brainstorming of myself and co-founder Glenn Wallace. What we're all about is displaying artist's works, whatever the media. It is about the creativity and mind of what goes into a finished piece. Over the coming weeks we will be welcoming other artists who have chosen to come on board. We'll also fill you in on upcoming events, profiles and galleries of our friends and my own personal happenings. Recently Glenn and I have been on the road at various markets and venues. The 2006 Nimbin Mardi Grass was an absolute pleasure! We met the nicest folks and got to speak to a lot of good souls. This is what Happy Pink People is all about and we welcome anyone with good intentions. We will continue our mission, doing the markets-scene, and keep you updated of where we'll be... so anyone interested, why not say hello? Also new galleries of my past and present works shall be featured on the site soon. I'd like to thank all of the fine people who have supported my stuff over the years and Happy Pink People gladly mentions the fine establishments and people behind them, who display my work. Version 2 of happypinkpeople.com will be a homely virtual community, with much more to see and do! Just check-in every now and then to find out where we're at. Once again, many thanks folks... and we hope you enjoy the site!! Regards Steve
